The SEFI supports companies in their search for balanced contractual conditions, guaranteeing the quality of their work and the respect of their commitments.
To this end, it dialogues, directly or through the European International Contractors (EIC) or through the Confederation of International Contractors' Associations (CICA) with most of the organizations which intervene, to varying degrees, in the definition of standards for contractual conditions: multilateral development banks, International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC), Chambre de Commerce Internationale (ICC France), New Engineering Contract (NEC), Dispute Resolution Board Foundation (DRBF), etc.
The SEFI, through CICA's "Multilateral Development Banks" working group, cooperates with the Heads of Procurement (HoPs) of these banks on the contractual terms and conditions applicable to the works they finance and puts forward its proposals for improvements, both for the general and particular conditions and for the environmental, social and governance standards they impose.
Likewise, it also responds to FIDIC's consultations prior to publishing new models or new editions of existing contractual models.
As a member of the "Arbitration & ADR" and "International Trade Law and Practice" Commissions of ICC France, of the International Commission of the French Association of Construction and Real Estate Law (AFDCI) and of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), the SEFI maintains a close and constant relationship with the circles elaborating the legal environment in which its members' international activity is developed.
