VINCI Concessions supporting sustainable regional development. - VINCI Concessions sees its corporate responsibility as that of a major player in regional development. It aims to combine economic, social and environmental performance, and has set itself the goal of serving the interests of all its stakeholders - local authorities, the company, employees, shareholders, customers and partners.- VINCI Concessions’ sustainable development policy is applied to all infrastructure and turnkey projects, from financing, design and construction, to operation and maintenance. VINCI Concessions is represented on VINCI’s Sustainable Development Committee. All business units implement the committee’s strategy, define the most appropriate social and environmental indicators for their lines of work, and promote best practices, with particular emphasis on consultation and dialogue. - With regard to social responsibility, VINCI Concessions’ top priorities are occupational safety and road risk prevention. To ensure the integration of employees in their business units, VINCI Concessions adopted a rigorous job and skills management policy several years ago. The policy respects the cultural diversity of the environment in which its units operate. The company has also developed training programmes adapted to the specific nature of its business lines, and has built up social dialogue. - In terms of environmental responsibility, wherever they operate, VINCI Concessions’ business units collaborate closely with local environmental stakeholders. Controlling the environmental impact of projects on water, noise and air quality is undertaken systematically, and biodiversity is always respected. In 2003, Cofiroute published its first sustainable development report. In 2004, a report on the company’s overall environmental performance will be published, all VINCI Concessions entities having committed to collecting the necessary data. - As a player in regional development, dedicated to serving its customers, VINCI Concessions is also developing research programmes on innovative geographical mobility solutions, the evolution of infrastructure, and improving road safety. In addition, its employees play an active role with non-profit organisations, to which they offer support and guidance through VINCI’s corporate foundation, the Fondation d’Entreprise VINCI pour la Cité.VINCI Concessions, alongside its parent company, has committed to complying with the nine principles of the UN Global Compact, and is implementing its application in terms of human rights, labour rights and environmental protection.
