In order to ensure the best possible service to its clients, Soletanche Bachy pursues a continuous programme of improvement. The programme addresses internal procedures and working methods as well as the techniques and machinery used on site. This activity falls within the scope of our ISO 9001 certification and relies, in particular, on internal research and development projects with an emphasis on the preservation of the environment :

- protection of the ground and ground water by the development of non-polluting concretes, grouts and excavation muds,
- construction of machinery requiring little space, creating very little noise and suited to urban sites,
- instrumentation of sites to allow continuous monitoring,
- conformance with standards relating to spoil,
- consideration of environmental objectives for the design of underground structures [e.g. storm tank PIBOP giving a small footprint on the surface, 1st prize FNTP Innovation Award 2001]..

  - Isseane project (Issy les Moulineaux) : « Clean » waste incineration and recycling plant to process household waste from 1 million houses in Western Paris (D-wall 80,000m2, 800 load bearing piles, grout curtain, ground anchors)
  - RER C (Ile-de-France) : Soil consolidation by concrete grouting under the existing rail track
  - Valenton VL10 (Ile-de-France) : Tunnel of 2km long and diameter 4m
