SEFI (The French International
Contractors)
had 12 members: contractors in the construction and infrastructure
sector, companies specialising in the supply of facilities
and turnkey contracts, service
concessionaries, etc. All these companies offer a
wide range of activities from engineering to services, including
construction/rehabilitation, financial and legal packaging, etc. The
companies include : BOUYGUES CONSTRUCTION, COLAS, EIFFAGE,
EUROVIA,
RAZEL, SADE, SOLÉTANCHE-BACHY, SPIE, SPIE BATIGNOLLES,
VEOLIA WATER SYSTEMS, VINCI
CONCESSIONS and VINCI CONSTRUCTION.
The international turnover of the companies of SEFI represents a
substantial percentage of their
overall revenue (37% in 2008), i.e. 27.9 billion Euros. This figure
constitutes practically the entire international turnover of the
sector. This figure makes French
construction companies the World Leaders in their sector in terms of
their international activities.
This volume of business, which has been achieved thanks to the
multidisciplinary competence of our companies and their long-standing
experience in foreign markets, gives SEFI a representative quality that enables it to
speak on behalf of
the entire profession in the international arena.
SEFI’S
MISSIONS ARE CONCENTRATED ON INTERNATIONAL TOPICS:
- it informs its members on
international issues of common interest;
- it exchanges views with its members, sets up temporary working groups
and issues proposals on matters of common interest relating to
international trade;
- it presents its views to French and foreign public authorities,
international financial institutions, professional associations in
France and abroad and international organisations.
FOR EXAMPLE, SEFI
HAS MADE
ACONTRIBUTION ON THE FOLLOWING ISSUES:

and the
export credit financing system (simplification, improvement,
public/private partnership);
- the effectiveness of official development assistance;
- the country systems for procurement and the model forms of
international contracts;
- the new conditions of the competition (WTO, distortion of
competition...);
- the rules to strengthen integrity and fight against corruption;
- the corporate social and environmental responsibility;

Partnership projects and infrastructure concessions (keys
